HM Design prepared architectural drawings (from Conceptual Stage to working drawings) and garden design conceptual drawings for a 5,500ft² vacation house. Building Design and technology borrows from the traditional Belizian Caribbean Architectural style. Passive design techniques like, covered balconies, cross-ventilation and living quarters on stilts are employed to capture ocean breezes and ensures that no artificial air conditioning is required. Only locally available wood was used and structure has been designed to withstand hurricanes. All living areas are located on second story so as to be safe from flood, tsumani etc. The house was painted pastel blue so that it connects the bay water to the sky. HM Design facilitated the project from inception to completion.
