Chestnut Groves

Mr. Mehta was the Project Architect for a 10-unit town-housing complex (4 acres) that won the Architectural Association of Kenya design award. Hitesh built all the various house-types study models and coordinated the design of floor plans, elevations, sections and working drawings. He also surveyed and analyzed the site and helped design the master site plan with special emphasis on the preservation of existing trees and shrubs. Chestnut Groves project provided luxurious town houses in 1989 (a first in Kenya) with amenities and modern conveniences found in very few housing projects in Kenya This project was timely in that the growing needs and demands for such high-quality accommodation had not been catered for previously in Nairobi.
