“House of Vanguard”, an 11-story office building was completed in 1991 and was the first Green Building in Kenya. Landscape elements include an internal atrium, external hanging and street-side planters and a roof garden etc. All the offices and the penthouse look inwards into the atrium which has a 9-story water glass-wall and plaza fountain. The penthouse Roof garden has the first putting green in Kenya. It is one of those few locations in the city where, on a clear day, you can have views of both Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya.
HM Design participated in the site analysis and design, constructed alternative models and prepared landscaped plans, elevations, sections and specifications. HM Design designed and implemented all Landscape Architecture elements.
